Fully dependent unmarried and widow sisters or brothers under age 21 years provided that their father is not alive and they live with the employee. 

Half Set Pass/PTO: From one station to another.

Full Set Pass/PTO: From one station to another and back.

Split Set Pass/PTO: Separately for employee and his family.

Description of Passes:


1) Metal Duty Pass: Gold for GM and above, Silver for PHODs and HODs and Bronze for rest of the Gazetted officers. 

 2) Duty Card Pass: Pass for frequent official journeys.

3) Residential Card Pass: To travel from the nearest station of work place to nearest station of residence.

4) School Card Pass: To travel from the nearest station of school to the nearest station of residence for children and dependents of the railway servant.

5) Transfer Pass: Single set pass to carrying out transfer.

6) Special Pass: Issued to Railway servant or even to outsiders for special purpose.

7) Cheque Duty Pass: For performing official duty and is used one time.

9) Complimentary Passes: Issued after retirement.

Not more than 05 persons if dependents are included.

Attendant: Each metal pass, first class-A, and first class covers an attendant in the second class.

Note: After completion of 05 years service, Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ employees are eligible for 03 sets of passes.

Class and Number of privilege Passes

First Class A: All gazetted staff

First Class: 1) Employees with basic pay of Rs.5000/- or above if appointed before 01.08.69 and in a scale maximum of which is Rs. 6000/- or above.

                      2) Employees with basic pay of Rs.5375/- or above if appointed during 01.08.69 to 11.10.87and in a scale maximum of which is Rs. 7000/- or above

                                            
                      3) Employees with basic pay of Rs.7250/- or above if appointed during 12.10.87 to 01.02.99 and in a scale maximum of which is Rs. 6500/- or above

            4) Employees appointed after 01.02.99 working in scale minimum of which is Rs.6500/-

Complimentary Passes:

Group ‘A’ and ‘B’

        I) 20 years or more service: 02 sets
       II) 25 years or more service: 03 sets

Group ‘C’

 I) 20 years but less than 25 years: 01 set
      II) 25 years or more service: 02 sets

Group ‘D’: More than 25 years service- 01 set.

Railway servants are penalized for loss of passes and also held taken up under RS (D&A) Rules, 1968 for misuse of passes by them or their family.
